Amazing Band.
Abrupt Stop.
The 7" and LP are really untouchable records from that era, If more bands covered them i think i would mosh more often.

In a world where Striking Distance and 86 Mentality existed, that opinion is wrong.
Desperate Measures was cool. I've never heard the 7", I need to buy a copy next time I see it. That reunion at This Is Hardcore was weird.

I love Desperate Measures. I think "Addiction" is an especially awesome/really underrated song with much better lyrics than a lot of their other jams.

Nobody else seems to think that the singer had really bad rhythm, I remember buying the CD and listening to it and thinking, "really? they couldn't do a better take where he says it on time?"

Desperate Measures didn't play at This is Hardcore. Ryan sang with members of let down and dave sausage or something like that.
as for his off timing singing, i would have to dis-agree, i would say its more unconventional timing but its consistent.
I do want to say i saw a larger reaction for desperate measures at posi numbers 04 than i ever saw for Striking Distance or 86 Mentality. In retrospect yes i like SD and 86 more, but anyone else who witnessed that will agree. we need to have a posi numbers 04 video night!

Desperate Measures was one of my favorite bands of that time hands down. Me and Ryan have briefly talked about doing a band. It will never happen but if it did it would be a PG county as FUCK. Just a fun DM fact the song "live your life" on the first 7"was actually a No Justice song written be Steve from 86. It got recorded with no vocals and NJ never did anything with it so Ryan put words to it and Steve let them record it for the 7".

Desperate Measures at Posi Numbers '04 definitely had a bigger crowd than I've ever seen for Striking Distance or 86 Mentality, but I wasn't at 86's last show. Totally back that up, Bobby! Also, I have the Posi Numbers '04 DVD - Posi Numbers '04 video night needs to happen.
DM is one of my favorite bands, and has been forever. And many thanks for that upload, Zach; my physical copy was warped as fuck and the mp3s I dubbed are painful. Happy to be able to listen to it through again!

Did Desperate Measures play captain tees, or am I imagining this show?
Either way, back on topic...captain tees was pretty awesome.

DM was one of my favorite bands to see during that time. the kill your idols show they played at hi-fidelity is still one of the most fun shows i can remember.
claws out, i'm pretty sure i saw DM play at captain tee's with the first step, damage control, and a couple other bands.
