i wish i had a mig100 sometimes...the mig60 has to be cranked within an inch of its life to compete with 100+watt heads. but it sounds so good!

thats one of the benefits of 50-60w heads though because most amps sound best when its cranked! thats said i never buy heads less than 100w

The Butcher is one hell of a guitar head. Great piece of equipment. Wish I still had easy access to one. Also sounds great as a bass head.
I know almost everyone disagrees with me but my preferred live sound (for raw and noisy bands) is for drummers and singers to be seen but not heard. I like it when it's just a giant wall of fuzz and static and you see a bunch of people playing songs. The way spicy food clears out your nasal passages, noise should clean out your ears and soul. I say that, but Framtid have a nice balanced and professional sound when playing live and they're the best so who knows.....

FYI the vtm 120 is just the butcher with the mod switches. the butcher is like a straight up marshall jcm800 knockoff. both awesome for 1/3 what a marshall jcm800 might cost you* (i have found great deals on all of them, vtms for $150, marshalls for $600, etc)
personally i get bummed when i see bands and you can;t hear/feel the kick drum...OR usually the snare is loud enough but sometimes its not heard either..... its like listening to We're Not In This Alone.

Bryan from Chaos Destroy has a Butcher, always sounded perfect for everything he ever did.

There are so many times where a band is playing fast but it doesn't sound fast because the drummer is a light hitter on the snare drum and all you can hear is the hi-hit.

while still on peavey another amp to check out is the butcher (yeah best name for an amp!!!) which is a straight up jcm800 clone (no i havent compared them its hearsay) but they sound pretty wicked (dude from wasted time has one)
Ive heard/read the same thing but when we compared them next to each other the butcher didnt hold up to the jcm800. There was something lacking with the Butcher. I would definitely pick up a butcher for the right price but when it boils down to it, its got nothing on a jcm800.

I've heard that the EHX micro POG can do it if you modulate the volume knob along with it

The bigger pog is around there but the micro pog is like $190 new and can be found for less on ebay. It's a lot simpler, just has dry, octave up, and octave down volume controls.

Beck: try a pitch shifter and/or an octave, I have heard some sweet organesque stuff done with those
